On August 31st, blackfilm.com will host a very special N.Y.C. fundraiser for the
adaptation of Zora Neal Hurston's first published work, The Gilded Six Bits, by
Booker T. Mattison. We are proud to assist
Booker as he brings the work of an important Harlem Renaissance writer to the screen. The
Gilded Six Bits is Booker's NYU graduate thesis film. He is also the recipient of the
Warner Brothers Production Award and NYU's Spike Lee Fellowship. (Read more about
Booker in the September issue of Vibe Magazine.)
All contributions are a tax-deductible donation made payable to the NYU Production Fund.
