Donald Goines, who published 16 pulp novels between his release from
prison in 1970 and his death by shooting four years later. |
| Premise: When a gang leader named King
David (DMX) dies, a reporter (Arquette) who witnessed his murder investigates
the circumstances leading up to his death by reading his journal,
which becomes a framing device for this film's depiction of King Cobra's
story, including his rise to power and eventual fall, via a series
of flashbacks. |
