"Something New" director to do "Dreams of a Dying Heart" for Focus Features

Sanaa Hamri has been enlisted to direct the new feature film Dreams of a Dying Heart for Focus Features.
The Iraq war drama was penned by Shawn Otto and centers on a journey through the mind of a female chopper pilot who's shot down in Iraq and finds herself in a race against time to save her own life and find a way back to her 18-year-old daughter. "Dreams of a Dying Heart" was written by Shawn Otto, who also wrote "The House of Sand and Fog".

Hamri's last outing was also with Focus as she directed another Sanaa in Sanaa Lathan in Something New, which was released back in January '06. Hanru is also one of the few prominent female music video directors.
