Dimension Films has set a Nov. 26 start date for "Comeback," an inspirational sports drama that Ice Cube will topline and produce. Fred Durst is negotiating to direct.

Project is based on a true story, and Cube will play a former high school football star who takes his niece under his wing as she becomes the first female quarterback in Pop Warner football history. The 11-year-old QB, Jasmine Plummer, led her team to thePop Warner tournament, and became the first female to play in the tournament's 56-year history.

Nick Santora penned the script, with Doug Atchison ("Akeelah and the Bee") doing a rewrite. Santora read about the girl's tourney win, corralled the rights to her story and took his script to Dimension. Santora is producing with Cube and his Cube Vision partner Matt Alvarez.

Cube and Alvarez have an overall deal with Dimension, and they are prepping a remake of "Welcome Back, Kotter" as well as "Tough Love," a story inspired by the life of former New England Patriots player Tebucky Jones.

Atchison has a three-pic deal at the Weinstein Co. and is developing "Outspoken" and "The Last Caravan."

Durst, best known as frontman of the rock group Limp Bizkit, has been attached to numerous projects over the years and made his directorial debut on "The Education of Charlie Banks," a coming-of-age film that stars Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Ritter.

WMA reps Cube and Durst.
