Golden Globe® winner Brian Dennehy is in negotiations to join newly added cast members John Leguizamo, Academy Award® nominee Dan Futterman, Trilby Glover and professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek in "Righteous Kill," the Jon Avnet production which begins filming September 4th in Connecticut and New York.
This rounds out the already stellar cast which includes Academy Award® winners Al Pacino ("Scent of a Woman") and Robert DeNiro ("Raging Bull"), 50 Cent ("Get Rich or Die Tryin'"), Carla Gugino ("Night at the Museum"), and Donnie Wahlberg ("Saw II & III").

The film, which Avnet ("Red Corner," "Fried Green Tomatoes," and "Up Close and Personal") is helming based on a script by Russell Gewirtz ("Inside Man"), follows long time police detectives, played by Pacino and DeNiro, as they investigate a series of vigilante killings in New York City.

Leguizamo ("Moulin Rouge") plays a cop in the NYPD who butts heads with Pacino and DeNiro as they search for a serial killer. Dennehy (Showtime's "Death of a Salesman," "Assault on Precinct 13") takes on the role of their captain. Futterman ("A Mighty Heart") and Glover ("The Starter Wife") both play attorneys, and Dyrdek (MTV's "Rob and Big") a delinquent, who crosses paths with the detectives during their investigations.

The Nu Image/Millennium production will be distributed domestically by Overture Films. The film is produced by Jon Avnet, Avi Lerner, Alexandra Milchan, Daniel Rosenberg, Rob Cowan and Randall Emmett.

Nu Image/Millennium Films is currently in production on the upcoming Jessica Simpson film, "Major Movie Star," a comedy about an actress who flees from her pampered Hollywood life and finds herself as an unwilling recruit in the U.S. Army Reserves. The company also recently completed production on the highly anticipated action film "John Rambo" with Sylvester Stallone, "88 Minutes" with Al Pacino, and "Cleaner" with Sam Jackson and Eva Mendes, directed by Renny Harlin.

Overture Films most recently partnered with Nu Image/Millennium Films on the comedy-caper "Mad Money," directed by Callie Khouri and starring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes as three female employees of the Federal Reserve who plot to steal money that is about to be destroyed. "Mad Money" is currently in post-production. Additionally, Overture green-lit "Traitor," its sixth film in six months. Set to begin production this month, "Traitor" is an espionage thriller starring Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce, about a rogue former US Special forces operative who is aiding terrorists to carry out acts against the West; however, it's unclear where the man's loyalties lie. Shooting in London in October is the unconventional romance, "Last Chance Harvey," starring Academy Award® winners Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. Earlier this year, Overture Films acquired all U.S. rights to "Ferris Wheel," an emotional drama about a young girl's search for parental love, starring Academy Award® winner Charlize Theron. Overture is also in active development on, and currently casting for "105 Degrees and Rising," an ensemble piece set against the backdrop of the Fall of Saigon, to be directed by Jon Amiel.
