Haven't we seen this before? How many times can Jason Voorhees die and be reborn again?

Not enough apparently. Produced by Michael Bay and directed by Marcus Nispel, this reboot version adds nothing original to thrill the audience. People run through the woods, fall down and then get killed. Same story, same result. Save your money and catch the original on DVD.
In this version, starring Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo and Derek Mears as Jason, we learn yet another story about how the Crystal Lake killer came to exist. When his mother is murdered for kiling camp counselors who let her son drown, a little boy (Jason) walks by her dead body, picks up the machete lying next to her and is never to be seen again.

Years go by and a group of young adults travel to Crystal Lake looking for fun and relaxation, unaware of the story behind the lake. When a tall and bulky Jason comes out of the shadows and goes on a killing spree, he keeps alive the one person who holds something dear to him.

Nearly two months later, Clay Miller (Padalecki) heads up to the lake looking for his sister. He runs into another group of young adults who are there have some fun, sex and relaxation. It doesn't take long before Jason emerges.

Having done remakes of 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and 'The Amityville Horror', Bay's production team is aiming to bring something back to the genre. The problem is that we don't know what it is since we get the same gore and the same scenes. Nothing new has been added here.
