TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX AND MGM HOME ENTERTAINMENT HONOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH WITH A COLLECTION OF 77 UNFORGETTABLE DVDS
A Portion of Proceeds to Benefit the NAACP on its 100th Anniversary

March 16, 2009

Los Angeles, Calif. (January 31, 2009) — In celebration of Black History Month and the 100th Anniversary of the NAACP, Twentieth Century Fox and MGM Home Entertainment have partnered with the NAACP to debut a customized Black History Month Collection. This inspiring collection features 77 titles, including comedies, thrillers, dramas, documentaries and television favorites, all now available on Blu-ray Disc (BD) and DVD. The Black History Month Collection includes some of the most influential productions featuring African American actors and themes. While the complete collection includes 77 titles, 22 of these films have been selected to receive unique DVD faceplates that highlight key themes in African-American heritage including those of Determination, Pride, Entertainment and Success.

Twentieth Century Fox and MGM Home Entertainment will also honor the NAACP’s landmark anniversary by donating a portion of each specially-marked Blu-ray Disc or DVD purchased to the pioneering civil rights organization (up to a total of $100,000).

The six films featured in A History of Determination are true stories of courage and commitment that celebrate the lives of African-Americans who achieved greatness against seemingly insurmountable odds. These include The Jackie Robinson Story, the saga of first African-American major league baseball player of the modern era; AKA Cassius Clay, a documentary tracing the life of the Olympic gold medal winner and former Heavyweight Champion of the World; Chisholm ’72: Unbought & Unbossed, the story of Shirley Chisholm, the first black woman elected to Congress and first major party black candidate for president of the United States; and King, the biography of the legendary civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. The collection also features the remarkable stories of two ordinary people who overcame crippling adversity, The Antwone Fisher Story and Woman, Thou Art Loosed.

A History of Pride celebrates extraordinary cinematic performances by some of Hollywood’s most talented and respected African American actors in signature roles. Featured in this collection are Hotel Rwanda, starring Don Cheadle in a spellbinding, Oscar® nominated performance; Men of Honor, with Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Robert De Niro; The Great White Hope, featuring James Earl Jones in the role that made him a star; Roll Bounce, with Bow Wow and Chi McBride; Drumline with Nick Cannon and Zoe Saldana; and Redemption with Jamie Foxx.

The vibrant tradition of African American achievement in comedy and music is front and center in the five DVDs of A History of Entertainment. From the groundbreaking stand-up comedy of Bill Cosby: Himself, the Motown-flavored musical film The Five Heartbeats and courtside comedy Rebound, to the first season of the long-running television favorite, The Bernie Mac Show, and the hilarious sketch variety show, Cedric The Entertainer, these classic films and television shows highlight the range and diversity of African American performers.

The History of Success collection celebrates strong, affirmative images of African Americans in five timeless films: In The Heat Of the Night, the five-time Oscar winning motion picture starring Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger; Man On Fire, with Denzel Washington and Christopher Walken; I, Robot starring Will Smith; The Salon with Vivica A. Fox and Barbershop featuring Ice Cube and Eve.

DVD and Blu-ray titles in the Celebrating Black History collection are priced from $9.98 to $39.99 U.S.. and $11.98 to $49.99 Canada. covert operations against the CIA, and sought to uncover the plans and conspiracies of the powerful, secretive Max.
