Having played the abusive boyfriend ('I Can Do Bad All by Myself'), the frat boy ('Stomp the Yard'), and the gay best friend ('The Family Stone'), Brian White has finally landed a big-screen romantic role.

The Hollywood Reporter states that the Boston native will star opposite Indian actress Mallika Sherawat in the Obama-themed romantic comedy 'Politics of Love.'

Set during the run-up to the 2008 election, the story follows the blossoming romance of volunteer coordinators, one a black man (White) working for the local John McCain office; the other, an Indian woman (Sherawat), who is a devoted Obama supporter.
Also starring in the film are Ruby Dee, Gerry Bednob and Loretta Devine. William Dear will direct from a script by Gary Goldstein.

White currently has a recurring role on the TNT series 'Men of a Certain Age.'

Earlier in his career, he starred alongside Patrice Fisher in the straight-to-DVD romantic thriller 'Trois 3: The Escort.'
