Daniel Sunjata added to The Dark Knight Rises

Daniel Sunjata, known for his role as Rivera in the FX Network series ‘Rescue Me,’ has been added to ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ along with Diego Klattenhoff (‘Mercy’) and Burn Gorman (‘Torchwood’) according to The Tracking Board.

The Evanston, Ill., native is currently playing a recurring role on ABC’s ‘Grey Anatomy.’

Sunjata will play a special forces operative, with Klattenhoff as a rookie cop trying to do good and Gorman in an specified supporting role..

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ will begin production shortly in Pittsburgh and is set to feature the return of Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman, along with roles for Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple and Josh Pence. It is set for release on July 20, 2012.

On the big screen, Sunjata has portrayed Langston Hughes in the film ‘Brother to Brother’ and a fashion designer opposite Meryl Streep in ‘The Devil Wears Prada.’
