Looks like the ‘Ice Age’ franchise will live on as Fox Filmed Entertainment co-chair Tom Rothman and Fox Animation Studios president Vanessa Morrison introduced the cast of the 2012 installment in the franchise, ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift.’
Besides Ray Romano returning back as Manny, along with Queen Latifah as Ellie, Dennis Leary as Diego, John Leguizamo as Sid, and Seann William Scott & Josh Peck as Crash & Eddie, a slew of actors have added to lend their voices to the film.
New to the cast are Jeremy Renner, who will portray Gutt, a self-styled master of the high seas; Wanda Sykes as Granny; Aziz Ansari is Walter; Keke Palmer is Peaches; hip hop star Drake is Ethan; and ‘American Idol’ judge Jennifer Lopez is Shira, a sabre toothed tiger who melts the heart of Diego.
20th Century Fox will release the fourth film in 3D on July 13, 2012.
The first film, ‘Ice Age’ was released in 2002 and grossed $383 million worldwide, with the second and third films, ‘Ice Age: The Meltdown’ (2006) and ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs’ (2009) taking in $651 million and $886 million respectively.
The films usually follows the adventures of Sid, Manny, and Diego.
