Nate Parker added to Ain’t Them Bodies Saints cast

Nate Parker, who will next be seen in Spike Lee’s Red Hook Summer, has been added to the cast of Ain’t Them Bodies Saints as principal photography has officially begun on David Lowery‘s dramatic thriller.

Announced by Evolution Independent, Lagniappe and Paradox Entertainment, the film stars Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Casey Affleck (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) Ben Foster (3:10 To Yuma), and Keith Carradine (Cowboys and Aliens).

The film tells the story of Bob Muldoon (Affleck) and Ruth Guthrie (Mara), two young outlaws who are brought down by the law in the hills of Texas.

The film began shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 9th and is produced by James Johnston (St. Nick) and Toby Halbrook (Pioneer) for Sailor Bear; Jay Van Hoy (Beginners) and Lars Knudsen (Beginners) for Parts & Labor; Amy Kaufman (Sin Nombre) for Primary Productions and Cassian Elwes (The Words) for Evolution Independent.

Parker, who has appeared in Red Tails, The Secret Life of Bees, The Great Debaters, and Pride, will also be seen opposite Richard Gere in Arbitrage, which hits theaters in September.
