THE CHICAGO 8 is based on actual court transcripts of 8 anti-war protesters on trial for conspiring to cause riots at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. This trailer focuses specifically on the story of Orlando Jones’ character Bobby Seale, a key player in the civil rights movement, co-founder of the Black Panther Party, and one of the original accused “Chicago 8″.

The Chicago 8 is the true story from the notorious 1968 trial that resulted when seven leaders of a Vietnam anti-war movement, and a member of the Black Panthers, were charged with conspiracy to incite devastating riots in Chicago. Desperate to stop what they saw as an “immoral war”, this group was ready to take on the establishment, express their freedom of speech by all means necessary, while paying a price for their actions.

Directed by Pinchas Perry, the film stars Gary Cole, Philip Baker Hall, Orlando Jones, Danny Masterson, Mayim Bialik, Thomas Ian Nicholas, and Steven Culp.

THE CHICAGO 8 will be releasing on nationwide On-Demand September 4th, 2012.
