Erika Alexander has been cast in a recurring role in the AMC drama pilot Low Winter Sun, playing Louise “LC” Cullen, a strong and intimidating cop who is completely matter-of-fact and straightforward in everything she does. She is with Greene & Assoc. and Untitled.

The project, based on the 2006 UK miniseries of the same name, is being billed as a contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption that starts with the murder of a cop at the hands of fellow Detroit detective Frank Agnew (Mark Strong, who starred in the British version). Seemingly the perfect crime, in reality the murder activates forces that will forever alter that detective’s life and pull him into the heart of the Detroit underworld.

Alexander, who recently was at San Diego Comic Con with her husband Tony Puryear promoting her new comic book ‘Croncrete Park,’ joins Mark Strong, Lennie James (‘Line of Duty’), James Ransone, Sprague Grayden and David Costabile in the AMC drama.

According to James, “‘Low Winter Sun’ is a reworking of a British television series. It is about two police officers that commit a murder and they think they committed the perfect crime but it’s about the fallout of that single action. It’s two men who don’t necessarily like each other and don’t necessarily trust each other but in involved in a very dangerous and problematic action together. It’s what happens to their jobs, careers, and relationships, and lives ultimately. It’s set in Detroit.”

While she has done guest spots on various TV shows, Alexander is best known for her roles as Pam Tucker on the NBC sitcom The Cosby Show, and as Maxine Shaw on the FOX sitcom Living Single.
