Here’s the trailer to director Danny Green‘s Mr. Sophistication, which stars Harry Lennix and will premiere at the Chicago Film Festival this weekend.

The film also stars Tatum O’Neal, Robert Patrick, Richard Brooks, Monique Gabriela Curnen, Paloma Guzmán, Gina Torres, Rick Fox, Niki J. Crawford, and Bruce McGill.

In the 90s, Ron Waters (Harry Lennix) was the hottest comic in Hollywood. Richard Pryor-like in his trenchant social and political commentary, Ron ultimately was driven away by controversy that increased as he grew more successful. Now settled in Chicago doing regular standup routines at his wife’s (Tatum O’Neal) club, he is given a second shot at the big time. But, as he learns once again, fame and fortune come at a price.

Green directed the critically acclaimed feature film, The Tenants, starring Dylan McDermott and Snoop Dogg in 2005.

Mr. Sophistication screens Saturday, October 20, at 7:15 pm. and Sunday, October 21, at 12:15 p.m. Danny Green, Harry Lennix, and producers Albena Dodeva and Jon E. Edwards are scheduled to attend the screenings. All screenings take place at the AMC River East 21, 322 E. Illinois St., Chicago.
