Comedy web series FAMOUS FARRAH makes its series debut on Thursday, JANUARY 17th. FAMOUS FARRAH pokes fun at the entitlement of the rich, hip-hop culture and the desire to be famous. The series follows infectious disease scientist Farrah as she becomes a member of the hapless, questionably talented, Cake Boys rap crew.

This is to be the first of a nine episode season. New episodes are scheduled to release monthly following the premiere. All episodes will run exclusively on

FAMOUS FARRAH is a clever, but not too cool, daffy, but not slapstick spoof on the hip-hop game. As her 26th birthday approaches, Farrah Satrapi (Kathreen Khavari) realizes that she’s bored with her monotonous, sterile life in the lab. After John (Mike Ivers), her Wall St. big-shot fiancé, forgets her birthday, Farrah’s wannabe socialite sister Ava (Giselle Vázquez) takes her out for the celebration she deserves. During their night out on the town, Farrah has a chance encounter with The Cake Boys — a floundering rap group looking for a gimmick to put them on the map. After meeting Farrah, crew leaders Mac Illa (Lamar Cheston) and Greg Greasy (Eden Marryshow) are convinced that once they make her their “Fergie,” they’re bound to take over the game. Deciding she needs a little spice in her life, Farrah accepts the offer and the comedy ensues. “The Famous Farrah team hopes to bring a fresh meaning to the idea of career change and transformation with the new comedy series,” says director Talibah Newman.

FAMOUS FARRAH is directed by award winning director Talibah Newman. The series is produced by Khaliah Neal and created and written by Chuck Neal.

Talibah Newman is Texas-raised, NYC-grown, and International-bound. She is wrapping up her graduate studies at Columbia University’s School of the Arts for Directing and is currently in post production on her thesis film, “Sweet Honey Child.” Her latest film, “Busted on Brigham Lane,” can be seen on HBO starting in February.

Khaliah Neal works at Focus Features in New York City. In addition, she is building a diverse selection of independent film, television, and theater producing projects, such as, “An Illuminated Life” by Maura Malloy, a narrative feature co-produced by Cooper’s Town (Philip Seymour Hoffman’s production company).

This is the first web series for writer Chuck Neal. He works full time as a professional something-or-other and is always on a search to find inspiration for future projects.

Kathreen Khavari, an Oakland, California native, received her Master’s in Infectious Disease Control before pursuing acting full time. She has since performed on stage and in TV/film productions, and can be seen in the off-Broadway play “You are Dead, You Are Here,” at NYC’s Here Theater in the summer of 2013.
