With production currently ongoing in Canada, Blackfilm.com has learned that singers Anthony Hamilton and Marsha Ambrosius have been added to the cast of Malcolm D. Lee’s The Best Man Holiday, the long-awaited sequel to his 1999 box office hit, The Best Man.

Lee recently tweeted “I said it once and I’ll say it again: The Best Man Holiday has an awesome cast. Incredible work today for an incredible sequence! @TayeDiggs @NiaLong @justsanaa @Morris_Chestnut @HaroldPerrineau @Real_Terrence_H @monicacalhoun1 plus @HamiltonAnthony the the lovely @MarshaAmbrosius perform a classic song . What a day! Goodnight!”

After nearly 15 years apart, Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Regina Hall reprise their career-launching roles in the next chapter to the film that ushered in a new era of comedy. When the college friends finally reunite over the Christmas holidays, they will discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.

Hamilton recently had a song on the soundtrack to the Oscar-nominated Quentin Tarantino film, ‘Django Unchained,’ and had some songs on the ‘American Gangster‘ soundtrack while playing the role of a funk band singer in the film. ‘Best Man Holiday’ will mark Ambrosius’ film debut.

Considered among many as one of the best Black romantic comedy films, ‘The Best Man’ opened #1 at the box office when it came on October 22, 1999.

The Best Man Holiday hits theaters on November 15, 2013.
