Vin Diesel, through his Facebook account, posted a pic from funeral scene for Han (Sung Kang), who was killed at the end of Fast & Furious 6 by a new villain played by Jason Statham.

“The first week of filming, has been both intense and surreal…P.s. One from set… a more somber moment in Our Saga…”

With a script from Chris Morgan, James Wan is directing the latest installment, which brings back most of returning cast (Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson), along with some new faces (Tony Jaa, Kurt Russell, Nathalie Emmanuel, Djimon Hounsou).

The film takes place after Dominic Toretto and his crew helped take down Owen Shaw, and his brother Ian Shaw now wants revenge. “Fast & Furious 7″ is said to return the action to Los Angeles.

Here’s Universal statement on shut down (Dec.3)

“Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers,” said the studio. “At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker.”

“When I heard, I immediately flew back to California, and went directly from the plane to his mother’s house…

I thought they needed my strength, but realized when I got there and broke down before his family, that it was I who needed theirs.

His mother hugged me and said I am so sorry… I said sorry? You’re the mother who lost a son?… She said yes, but you lost your other half…”

As of Feb. 27, According to The Hollywood Reporter, “the remainder of the shoot will last from six to eight weeks… Cast and crew will be called back to Atlanta, where filming had been scheduled to resume after Thanksgiving.” Filming was about halfway finished when Walker died.

FF7 set pic March 31Production has resumed today (March 31). Director James Wan posted an image of one of today’s production slates to his Instagram feed. The shoot is expected to continue for the next six to eight weeks.
