Tonight at 10pm ET is the midseason finale to the fourth season of BET’s hit series Being Mary Jane, starring Gabrielle Union. The season 4 return will premiere Tuesday, July 18 at 10 PM with 10 additional episodes.

Created by The Game‘s Mara Brock Akil, Being Mary Jane follows the sometimes disastrous personal and professional life of news anchor Mary Jane Paul (Gabrielle Union).

Approaching her 40th birthday, Mary Jane is all smiles. She, her boyfriend Lee (Chiké Okonkwo) and best friend Kara (Lisa Vidal) are set to enjoy a weekend getaway in Martha’s Vineyard. Things are seemingly on a positive note for her family in Atlanta. She’s happily surprised with their expression of love on her birthday and support of her career move to New York. However, some interesting developments occur in the days leading up that could spoil the celebration.

A brief romantic encounter with her old nemesis and now boss, Justin (Michael Ealy), has Mary Jane cloudy about what to do in her relationship and at her job. While she is caught up in the ambition of taking over the anchor chair, Kara may get caught in the crossfire of Justin’s plans to oust Ronda (Valarie Pettiford). Will Mary Jane move forward with Lee? Will she choose with her head or with her heart? Tune in and don’t miss the midseason finale to find out.

This season, Union, Jeff Morrone, Will Packer and Erica Shelton-Kodish are the executive producers, with Shelton-Kodish also serving as showrunner.
