Annapurna Pictures has released the first photo of Tyler Perry playing former Secretary of State Colin Powell and LisaGay Hamilton as former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice in director Adam McKay’s new film “Vice,” the biopic on former Vice President Dick Cheney.

VICE explores the epic story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider named Dick Cheney quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice-President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today.

Christian Bale stars as former Vice President Dick Cheney, with Amy Adams as his wife Lynne Cheney, Sam Rockwell as George W. Bush, Steve Carell as Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Tyler Perry as Colin Powell, LisaGay Hamilton as National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice Bill Pullman as former Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, Lily Rabe as Liz Cheney, and Bill Camp as Gerald Ford

Powell is the four-star general who as Bush Administration Secretary of State pressed the case for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, based on intelligence that Saddam Hussein was manufacturing weapons of mass destruction. None of the weapons Powell cited in his presentation to the United Nations was recovered after Iraq was routed.

Rice served as the 20th National Security Advisor in President George W. Bush’s first term and the 66th U.S. Secretary of State during Bush’s second term.

Cheney is regarded as one of the most powerful and influential U.S. Vice Presidents in history, having served under (and, as many regard, OVER) George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009. The former Halliburton chairman/CEO — who also served in the Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and George H.W. Bush administrations — was a hawkish proponent of the War on Terror and the Iraq War, and eventually left office with a 13% approval rating. He was previously portrayed by Richard Dreyfuss in Oliver Stone’s 2008 film W.

Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B will produce Vice with McKay and his Gary Sanchez partners, Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick.
