THE WOOL CAP

The Wool Cap The team that struck Emmy® gold with the critically acclaimed, highly rated TNT Original Door to Door is back again with THE WOOL CAP, A JOHNSON & JOHNSON SPOTLIGHT PRESENTATIONS starring Door to Door's Emmy-winning lead William H. Macy (Seabiscuit). Macy and Door to Door's Steven Schachter co-wrote the script and serve as producers, with Schachter also directing. Don Rickles (Toy Story, Casino); Oscar®, Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Ned Beatty (Hear My Song); and Catherine O'Hara (A Mighty Wind) also star, along with newcomer Keke Palmer. THE WOOL CAP, from Rosemont Productions International Ltd. in association with Dog Pond/Sydnyk Works, Macy and Schachter's production company; MAGNA Global Entertainment; and Viacom Productions, is executive-produced by David A. Rosemont (Door to Door), as well as MAGNA Global Entertainment's Frances Croke Page and Elaine Frontain Bryant.

THE WOOL CAP is an edgy yet poignant drama that tells the story of Gigot, a mute building superintendent who is tortured by his past but finds new life when he befriends Lou (Palmer), a bright young girl who is abandoned by her mother. Their troubled lives collide when each of them is tested to overcome their demons. However, by seeking out his estranged father (Beatty) and with the help of Ira (Rickles), an elderly tenant in Gigot's building, and Gloria (O'Hara), Gigot's supportive friend, Gigot and Lou are able to put their lives back together.

"Families come in all different shapes and colors, and ultimately, this film is about family," says Macy of how THE WOOL CAP explores different views of what it means to be a family. After being thrust together, Gigot and Lou struggle at first, but eventually come to love and respect one another as any family should. Their story culminates with Gigot doing everything in his power to conquer his own inner guilt over the death of his sister and forge a new, lasting family relationship not only with Lou, but also with his own estranged father. Gigot and Lou's journey is the story of how an undying family bond can emerge from even the most trying situations.
