Last weekend, Actress Caryn Ward (BET’s The Game) and TV/Film director Craig Ross Jr. were married in an intimate wedding on Saturday, June 11th aboard a 250-foot yacht sailing out of the Marina del Rey harbor.
Ward and Ross exchanged vows in front of 111 guests at sunset, including Aaron D. Spears of The Bold & The Beautiful, Marlon Young of MTV’s The Hard Times of RJ Berger, and The Bachelorette Party playwright /director Don B. Welch. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith, Founding Minister of the Agape International Spiritual Center (“The Secret,” Oprah Winfrey Show).
After ‘jumping the broom,’ the newlyweds joined their guests on the deck of the boat for dancing and the garter and bouquet toss, of which Ross’ mother (artist Fulton-Ross) caught the bouquet initially. The bouquet was playfully “stolen” from Fulton-Ross by actress and Ward’s co-host of The siSTARS, Tanjareen Martin.
Ward’s dress was a form fitting custom-made gown with hand-beaded precious stones and Chantilly lace imported from France, designed by Alina Pizzano.
The four-course sit down dinner included two salads, Parmesan-crusted sole, prime rib with an au jus or horseradish sauce, confetti rice, and crab cakes.
The three-tiered cake was adorned with fresh flowers and included fresh strawberries on the first tier, marble cake with fudge, and lemon on the second and top tier, respectively.
“They wanted an intimate setting,” says Cheryl J. Ward, mother of the bride and former Senior Assistant City Attorney of Los Angeles. “The wedding was all about family, and love certainly permeated the air”.
Caryn Ward Ross recently starred in the romantic comedy He’s Mine, Not Yours set for release in the fall of 2011, and is a producer and co-host of The siSTARS on Afterbuzz TV. Her last film, ‘N-Secure,’ was just released on DVD and Blu-ray and stars Cordell Moore, Essence Atkins, and Tempestt Bledsoe.
Craig Ross Jr. recently directed the CBS #1 hit series NCIS, garnering the highest rated episode in the shows 8-year run. The Boston, MA native also directed the urban cult films ‘Blue Hill Avenue,’ ‘Ride or Die,’ and ‘Motives.’
Together, Mr. and Mrs. Ross have two dark comedy television series and a feature film in development.
