Paramount has moved again the release date for producer J.J. Abrams‘ 2018 Cloverfield Movie (being referred as God Particle) to April 20, 2018. This is the third time that they’ve moved it, after it was first pushed from February 24, 2017 to October 27, 2017 and then to February 2, 2018.
The Bad Robot feature is being directed by Julius Onah and stars David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Daniel Bruhl, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris O’Dowd, John Ortiz, Zhang Ziyi and Aksel Henni
Although the plot hasn’t been released officially, the rumor is that the story follows an American space station crew that’s abandoned after a problem with a Hadron accelerator causes Earth to completely vanish, challenging all they know about the fabric of reality, as they desperately fight for their survival.
The science fiction tale was first announced back in 2012. Originally scripted by Oren Uziel, God Particle was rewritten by Star Beyond‘s Doug Jung.
Lindsey Weber will produce alongside Abrams, while Tommy Harper and Bob Dorhmann are executive producers.
God Particle follows 2008’s Cloverfield and 2016’s 10 Cloverfield Lane. The original Cloverfield brought in over $170 million worldwide, while 10 Cloverfield Lane took in $108 million at the global box office.
Nigerian-American filmmaker Onah’s feature debut, “The Girl Is In Trouble,” starred Columbus Short and was released in 2016 after traveling the festival circuit.
