Warner Bros. Pictures has released seven new character posters for its upcoming action adventure “Aquaman,” helmed by James Wan (“The Conjuring” films, “Furious 7”). Jason Momoa stars in the title role, returning to the character he plays in this fall’s “Justice League.”
The film will be released on December 21, 2018.
The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime — one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
The film also stars Amber Heard as Princess Mera; Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe as Vulko; Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta; with Patrick Wilson as King Orm/Ocean Master; Djimon Hounsou as the Fisherman King; and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.
The script is by Will Beall and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, from the story by Geoff Johns, Wan and Beall, the film is being produced by Peter Safran and Rob Cowan, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg, Walter Hamada, and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. The movie is based on characters from DC’s Aquaman created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger. Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman) will compose the music.
The film is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
