Spike Lee & Boots Riley Land DGA Nominations

After 30 years in the business, Spike Lee lands a nod from his peers

Nominations for the 71st annual Directors Guild Awards were announced Tuesday with Spike Lee, after 30 years in the business, finally received a nomination for Outstanding Directorial Achievement In Feature Film category for his film Blackkklansman.

First-time filmmaker Boots Riley also received a nomination in Outstanding Directorial Achievement Of A First Time Feature Film Director for his film, Sorry To Bother You.

The DGA winners will be announced at the 71st Annual DGA Awards on Feb. 2, following voting by its 17,000 members. The DGA nominations for the TV, commercial, and movie documentary categories were announced on Monday.
