According to Bloody Disgusting, LD Entertainment has officially delayed the release date for their upcoming remake of the 1990 classic Jacob’s Ladder. The remake was originally supposed to debut on February 1 of this year; however, the new premiere date will be later this year.
The Jacob’s Ladder remake is directed by David M. Rosenthal (The Perfect Guy) from the screenplay by co-writers Jeff Buhler and Sarah Thorp. It will star Michael Ealy, Jesse Williams, Nicole Beharie, Karla Souza, Guy Burnet and Joseph Sikora. The film has been in long development since 2013.

The 1990 original film starred Tim Robbins as a Vietnam veteran living in New York City named Jacob Singer. Haunted by his past, Singer begins a descent into madness that threatens to blend reality and delusion with the threat of a Dante-inspired damnation. The new take on the property is said to reexamine the themes of the original against a contemporary backdrop, offering “a modern day paranoid action thriller about two brothers.”
Sarah Thorp wrote the latest screenplay. Will Packer, through his Will Packer Productions company, will produce the film alongside Michael Gaeta, Mickey Liddell, Jennifer Monroe and Alison Rosenzweig.
