Chiwetel Ejiofor To Play Villain Opposite Mark Wahlberg In Antoine Fuqua’s Action-Thriller ‘Infinite’

The Hollywood Reporter is stating that Chiwetel Ejiofor has been cast as the villain in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming action-thriller Infinite led by Mark Wahlberg.

Infinite is an action/thriller, based on the novel The Reincarnationist Papers by D. Eric Maikranz, that tells the story of a group of men and women who are continuously reincarnated century-after-century to battle an evil madman bent on world destruction. The fate of the planet, it turns out, may reside with a schizophrenic man who will have to come to terms with the fact that his dreams are memories from his countless past lives.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura (the Transformers franchise) will be producing alongside Mark Vahradian and John Zaozirny of Bellevue Productions. Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer 2, The Magnificent Seven, Southpaw) will direct, with John Lee Hancock (The Founder) and Ian Shorr (Splinter) currently attached as screenwriters. Rafi Crohn will serve as executive producer.

The movie will also star Sophie Cookson, Kae Alexander and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson.

In addition to earning an Oscar and Golden Globe nomination for his role in 12 Years a Slave, Ejiofor is known for his roles in the 2010 Angelina Jolie-led action-thriller Salt, the 2015 sci-fi action drama The Martian and 2016’s Marvel Cinematic Universe hit Doctor Strange. He can currently be seen in the photoreal CGI remake of The Lion King in theaters and will next be seen in Disney’s upcoming dark fantasy adventure sequel Malificent: Mistresses of Evil, which is set to hit theaters on October 18.
