First Look At Taraji P. Henson and Ed Helms In Action-Comedy “Coffee & Kareem”

Netflix has posted first images of Taraji P. Henson and Ed Helms in the action-comedy “Coffee & Kareem,” directed by Michael Dowse from a 2014 Blacklist script written by Shane McCarthy.

While police officer James Coffee (Ed Helms) enjoys his new relationship with Vanessa Manning (Taraji P. Henson), her beloved 12-year-old son Kareem (Terrence Little Gardenhigh) plots their break-up. Attempting to scare away his mom’s boyfriend for good, Kareem tries to hire criminal fugitives to take him out but accidentally exposes a secret network of criminal activity, making his family its latest target.

To protect Vanessa, Kareem teams up with Coffee — the partner he never wanted — for a dangerous chase across Detroit. Also featured in the film are Betty Gilpin, RonReaco Lee, Andrew Bachelor aka King Bach and David Alan Grier.

Helms and Mike Falbo are producing via their Pacific Electric Pictures Co. banner, while Sanford Nelson, Jordon Foss, Linden Nelson and Don Foss are executive producing.

The film is scheduled to be released on April 3, 2020, by Netflix.
