The nominations for the 2021 Screen Actors Guild Awards are in! The nods for the 27th annual ceremony were announced via the Guild’s Instagram page; presented by Lily Collin’s (Emily in Paris) and Daveed Diggs (Hamilton). 2021 SAG Nominations: The Black List
Leading the way in nominations are the seasons unanimous champions – all from black directors, featuring black leads, or both. The top contenders are Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, One Night in Miami, Da 5 Bloods and The Trial of the Chicago 7. Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman have picked up another nomination for Best Actress and Actor for their roles in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. As for TV, This is Us’ Sterling K Brown, Bridgerton’s Rege-Jean Page, I May Destroy You’s Michaela Coel, and Little Fires Everywhere’s Kerry Washington have all secured nominations.
Usually held in January, the show has been pushed back until April due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The ceremony will air on TNT and TBS on Sunday, April 4 at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET. Keep reading for the full list of black nominees for this years awards.
