Educational content streaming services – I Will Graduate TV and HBCUGO TV – are set to unite. The platforms have a combined for the purpose of helping students of HBCU’s to further access motivating educational content. Both TV platforms are excited to present unique, in-depth programming that further builds on the academic, and overall advancements, of students around the country. In the new partnership, HBCUGO TV is offering episodes from the In The Classroom series, with high-profile guests sitting down with Tonya Lewis Taylor, founder of the Entertainers 4 Education Alliance/I Will Graduate Program, to discuss pathways to success through cycles of struggles and triumphs. Past talks on In The Classroom with celebrated luminaries include Actress/Producer La La Anthony, Rapper French Montana, Entrepreneur and star of ABC’s Shark Tank Daymond John, Comedian Tommy Davidson, Radio DJ legend and Producer Funkmaster Flex, and Actor Omar Epps. Originally taped in front of a live student audience, it was first developed as an after-school program to encourage students to stay in school.
HBCUGO TV is the only digital service that currently provides shows for historically black colleges and universities in America. The Network doesn’t stop at educational programming as it adds sports, lifestyle features, and even entertainment all representing African American points of view. The platform is available on Roku, Verizon Fios, and Comcast Big South via a partnership with Dallas/FT Worth, Texas-based regional television station STGTV and Apple TV.
The I Will Graduate Program/Entertainers 4 Education Alliance is a non-profit organization standing on an initiative of drop-out prevention while calling students, parents, and whole communities to action to increase educational achievement among the youth. The organizations goal is to provide powerful messages to youth and parents about the importance of educational excellence. The program accomplishes this through youth development programs, parent engagement, community outreach, exciting events, various forms of multimedia, and corporate partnerships.
