Chlöe Bailey To Star in Psychological Thriller ‘Jane’

Creator+, a next-generation content studio and distribution platform, announced today they will finance and produce their first feature length film JANE, which is set to star Grammy-nominated singer (part of the sister duo Chloe X Halle) & Grown-ish actress, Chlöe Bailey, playing the role of Izzy. Riverdale actress Madelaine Petsch, will play the films lead as Olivia while also producing. Starring alongside the two is Oscar winner Melissa Leo as Principal Rhodes.

Jane centers on a seemingly perfect high school senior, Olivia, who struggles with grief from the recent loss of a friend. When she gets deferred from her dream college, she begins to spiral and experiences a series of increasingly frightening panic attacks. In an attempt to regain some sense of control, she embarks on a social media-fueled rampage against those that stand in the way of her success but, as things escalate, she is forced to confront – and ultimately embrace – her darkest impulses in order to get ahead. Sabrina Jaglom and Rishi Rajani penned the script, and the film will mark Jaglom’s directorial debut.

“Mental wellness and anxiety issues for young adults are more prevalent than ever.  JANE resonated with me because it grapples with the perils of these uncomfortable and often taboo topics,” said Madelaine Petsch.

Production will begin at the end of July in Albuquerque, NM and also features Ian Owens (Shrill) as Mr. Richardson; Kerri Medders (SEAL TeamAlexa & Katie) as Josa; model Chloe Yu as Jane, and Nina Bloomgarden (Fatherhood) as Camille to round out the ensemble cast. Debbie Liebling will produce (Hulu’s PEN15; 65; Plus One) alongside producer and Creator+ Head of Production Nick Phillips (Gunpowder & Sky’s Alt; Facebook Watch’s The Real Bros of Simi Valley) andCreator+ Head of Content Studio Adam Wescott (YouTube Original’s This Is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous) and Petsch.

“Complicated female characters of this age are rarely featured at the center of their own stories, free of the whims of adults or their male counterparts,” said Sabrina Jaglom. “Furthermore, mental health concerns are so rarely taken seriously in young adults, particularly high functioning ones. I hope this film sparks conversations around these topics while treating the viewer to a dark, thrilling ride.”

The vertically integrated Creator+ provides financing, development, in-house production, distribution, marketing, ecommerce and film-related merchandise, operations and community capabilities for talent, monetizing through their existing audience and beyond, across mobile, web and connected-TV.
