Briana Middleton (Beauty and the Beast) has just landed a lead role on the new Apple Original Films and A24’s feature Sharper. Deadline broke the news today about the addition of the young actress who will star alongside Julianne Moore, Sebastian Stan and Justice Smith.
Sharper follows a con artist (Moore) in the world of Manhattan’s billionaire echelon. The film is based on the spec feature screenplay from Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka, which was recently added to the Black List. Emmy and BAFTA nominee Benjamin Caron directs and stars in the pic. Moore produces alongside Bart Freundlich, Gatewood, Tanaka and Erik Feig and Jessica Switch of Picturestart. Julia Hammer of Picturestart serve Executive producers.
Aside from Sharper, audiences can expect to see Briana Middleton in the eight-episode limited musical Beauty and the Beast prequel series on Disney+. The actress is cast alongside Luke Evans (Gaston) and Josh Gad (LeFou) and is playing Louie’s stepsister, Tilly. Middleton is making her feature film debut in the upcoming George Clooney-directed adaptation of The Tender Bar, based on the memoir by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer J.R. Moehringer. She’s cast as Sidney – opposite of J.R (Tye Sheridan) – a young woman who finds herself to be the “Daisy” to J.R.’s “Gatsby”. The actress is also playing the lead role in The Last Will and Testament of Charles Abernathy which recently completed shooting. She is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
