In a touching moment, Sheryl Lee Ralph breaks into song as she graces the stage to accept her Emmy for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

“I’m and endangered species. But I sing no victims song.” sang Ralph. “I am a woman, I am an artist, and I know where my voice belongs.”

The love fellow actors had for Ralph was palpable as they felt her passion singing the Diane Reeves lyrics.

She’d seemed to be in a state of disbelief when her named was called. Being honored after a long standing film and television career that has spanned four decades, Ralph has created iconic characters from roles in Sister Act and Moesha to her Emmy winning performance as public school teacher Barbara Howard in Abbott Elementary.
