Nonso Anozie (The Grey) will play “Sergeant Dap” in the film version of Orson Scott Card’s best-selling novel Ender’s Game. The film, which will begin production this month in east New Orleans, is a futuristic adventure about a brilliant young strategist named Ender Wiggins who is drafted by the International Fleet to save the human race.
Gavin Hood (Academy Award winner Totsi) will direct from a script he adapted. In addition to Anozie, Stevie Ray Dallimore (Joyful Noise) has been cast as Ender’s father John Wiggin and Andrea Powell (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2) joins the production portraying Ender’s mother Theresa Wiggin. The three star opposite Oscar-Nominee Harrison Ford, Oscar-Winner Ben Kingsley, Oscar-Nominee Viola Davis, Oscar-Nominee Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar-Nominee Abigail Breslin, and Asa Butterfield as Ender.
Anozie will also star as Xaro Xhoan Daxos in the second season of HBO’s acclaimed series ‘Game of Thrones.’
Summit Entertainment is co-financing and will release the film domestically March 15, 2013. Sierra/Affinity is handling foreign sales. K/O Paper Products, OddLot Entertainment and Digital Domain are production partners on the project, with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman producing via their K/O Paper Products banner. Gigi Pritzker and Linda McDonough are producing via OddLot Entertainment, along with Orson Scott Card, Lynn Hendee and Robert Chartoff.
The film will be executive produced by OddLot’s Bill Lischak, K/O’s Mandy Safavi, Digital Domain’s Cliff Plumer and Ed Ulbrich, with Ted Ravinett, and David Coatsworth.
