Blackfilm.com has confirmed that Jasmine Guy and Angie Stone have been added to the cast of ‘Scary Movie 5,’ the fifth installment of the successful franchise.

The two join a cast that includes Ashley Tisdale, Erica Ash, Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Simon Rex, Molly Shannon, Terry Crews, Marisa Saks, Heather Locklear, and Kate Walsh.

Directed by Malcolm Lee, this is the fifth installment of a very successful franchise. Lampooning the greatest in horror and genre fare, the first four films have grossed over $800 million worldwide.

The plot involves Three dancers — one veteran performer and two upstarts who are also best friends — vie for the lead in a new production from a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed director.

Snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French dance company director Pierre is putting on a new production. Jody (played by Ashley Tisdale), a Caucasian late-20s mother of two and her late-20s African American friend Kendra (played by Erica Ash) are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody’s extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30s Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry (played by Molly Shannon), gets cut from the production and goes berserk.

Guy and Stone will play members of Kendra’s family. Guy tweeted the following, “On scary movie 5 set with Angie Stone. Havin a ball!”

Guy is best known for her starring role as Whitley Gilbert in the television sitcom A Different World. While she’s done numerous guest-starring spots on various sitcoms, she’s also best remembered for her film roles in Spike Lee‘s School Daze and Eddie Murphy‘s Harlem Nights.

Stone is a Grammy nominated R & B and soul snger who also had a leading role in a theatre play titled ‘Issues: We’ve Got Them All.’ She recently appeared opposite Kim Fields in the TV film, ‘A Cross to Bear.’

Update: Angela “Big Ang” Raiola (MOB WIVES) and Sherée Whitfield (THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA) are also in the film.
