Coming out this week is the hilarious new comedy ‘Neighbors,’ starring Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne, Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Jerrod Carmichael.
Directed by Nicholas Stoller and written by Andrew Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, the film centers on a couple with a newborn baby who move into a new neighborhood and face unexpected difficulties following the establishment of a fraternity house in the adjacent residence. An intensive conflict between the two parties ensues.
For Carmichael, who plays frat member Garf, the film represents his film debut. Having done standup at various places, he’s about to get a big boost in his career as Spike Lee will be directing his upcoming HBO standup special.
In speaking with Blackfilm.com, Carmichael talks about his character, doing his first film, and having Spike Lee to direct his comedy special.
