Kevin Hart

With current box office hits such as ‘Ride Along’ , ‘Think Like a Man Too,’ and the upcoming ‘Wedding Ringer,’ it’s no doubt that Kevin Hart is one of the funniest actors today. So much, that he’s on everyone’s radar. According to the French site Allocine, The Intouchables original co-director Olivier Nakache announced that Hart has been chosen to star opposite Colin Firth in the The Weinstein Company’s remake on the critically acclaimed French film, The Intouchables.

In 2012, Omar Sy originated the role and won the Cesar Award for Best Actor. It’s the French equivalent of the Oscars. Firth will playing the part originated in the French film by Francois Cluzet.

The Intouchables Chris Rock Jamie Foxx Idris Elba

There’s no word on whether Paul Feig is still attached as the director. At one point, Chris Rock, Idris Elba, Jamie Foxx, and Chris Tucker were in the running for the role. In 2012 while promoting his role in Silver Lining Playbook, Tucker has said, “I’ve seen [The Intouchables] and yes, I have been talking with them (producers) about doing it. I hope something will come out of it because I really like the movie and they are in the process of getting it together. So there’s a possibility that it might happen.”

“The Intouchables” tells the true story of a wealthy, physically disabled risk taker, the picture of established French nobility, who lost his wife in an accident and whose world is turned upside down when he hires a young, good-humored, black Muslim ex-con as his caretaker. Their bond proves the power and omniscience that love and friendship can hold over all social and economic differences.
