David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw to Star in J.J. Abrams’ Sci-Fi Thriller ‘God Particle’ Posted by Wilson Morales

Variety is reporting that David Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will be starring in producer J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi thriller “God Particle” for Paramount Pictures
Julius Onah will direct its original Bad Robot feature, which has set a February 24, 2017 release date.
The science fiction tale was first announced back in 2012. Originally scripted by Oren Uziel, God Particle was rewritten by Star Beyond‘s Doug Jung.
The plot of God Particle is said to revolve around an American space station and a team of astronauts that, after an accident with a particle accelerator, suddenly finds that Earth has vanished altogether. Things get stranger when they then they pick up traces of another space station nearby.
Oyelowo recently finished production on Amma Asante’s “A United Kingdom” opposite Rosamund Pike as well as Disney’s “Queen of Katwe.” He is also shooting “American Express.”
Mbatha-Raw was recently seen as Will Smith’s wife in “Concussion” and has the Civil War drama “Free State of Jones” opposite Matthew McConaughey.
Nigerian-American filmmaker Onah’s feature debut, “The Girl Is In Trouble,” starred Columbus Short and was released last year after traveling the festival circuit.
