Samuel Goldwyn Films has released a new trailer for GOOK, which will hit theaters on August 18 in Los Angeles and August 25 in New York and nationwide.
Written, directed by and starring Justin Chon (Twilight; Seoul Searching; Revenge of the Green Dragons), the film also stars Simone Baker, David So, Curtiss Cook, Jr. (Naz & Maalik), Sang Chon and Ben Munoz.
Eli and Daniel are two Korean-American brothers who own a struggling shoe store in South Los Angeles and have a unique and unlikely friendship with a young 11 year-old African-American girl, Kamila. The film is set on the first day of the LA RIOTS on April 29, 1992 forcing the three of them to defend their store while contemplating the future of their own personal dreams and the meaning of family.
Following its Friday, August 18th opening in Los Angeles, CA at the Arclight Hollywood and Regal LA LIVE Stadium, the film will play in the following cities/states:
