Annie Ilonzeh, Roger R. Cross, Colin Salmon, Nneka Croal, and David Ramsey are some of the cast members that will be featured in The CW’s Green Arrow pilot, starring Stephen Amell.
UPDATE: The CW has picked up the drama series for its 2012-13 schedule.
Other stars attached to the Arrow pilot include Katie Cassidy (Gossip Girl), Colin Donnell (Pan Am), Susanna Thompson (Once and Again), Willa Holland (The OC), Stephen Blackthorne (The River) and Jamey Sheridan (Homeland).
After being marooned for five years on a remote island, former billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell) returns with a mysterious agenda and a lethal set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime.
Actress Annie Ilonzeh told BET that she has a recurring role. “I don’t have any superpowers, but I’d love to get in there and find out my character has some, too.” Ilonzeh was part of ABC’s high-profile Charlie’s Angels reboot. Ilonzeh’s past credits include a stint on ABC soap General Hospital and a role on HBO’s Entourage.
Colin Salmon will play Walter Steele, a former business associate of Oliver’s late father Robert Queen and the No. 2 executive at Queen Consolidated. He married Oliver’s mother Susanna Thompson following her husband’s death at sea and the disappearance of her son. Salmon recently wrapped Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Retribution, reprising his role from the first Resident Evil film.
Roger R. Cross, who was in Fox’s 24 opposite Kiefer Sutherland is Detective Hilton. The detective partner of Quentin Lance, Hilton meets with one of the pilot’s villains, Adam Hunt, who describes the “man with a green hood and bow and arrow” who put two of his bodyguards in the hospital.
Danielle DiDio is a woman who has been wronged by the pilot villain, Adam Hunt, and she goes to Laurel Lance and her “CNRI” agency because she couldn’t get help anywhere else. Thanks to Adam Hunt, she has lost a lot that she and her family had saved over the years.The actress cast for the role is Nneka Croal, whose credits include The 4400 and a movie called The Hard Corps.
David Ramsey will play John Diggle, “a former military man now working as a bodyguard for hire who soon finds he is trapped in a battle of wits, loyalty and trust.” Diggle is a new character not found in the comic books. Ramsey is best known for portraying Anton Briggs on Showtime’s Dexter. He has also appeared in CBS drama Blue Bloods.
Arrow will be produced by Warner Bros TV, with Game of Thrones director David Nutter hired to helm the pilot.
