Deadline is reporting that recent Emmy Award winner Anthony Hemingway will direct and exec produce the pilot for USA Network’s Unsolved, a true crime drama that chronicles the two major police investigations into the murders of Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur.
Hemingway received a directing Emmy nomination and shared the Outstanding Limited Series Emmy for FX Network’s The People v. O.J. Simpson. He also serves as a director/executive producer on the WGN America series Underground.
Written by Kyle Long (Suits), Unsolved, from Universal Cable Productions, Unsolved is based on the experiences of former LAPD Detective Greg Kading, author of the book Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations, who led multiple law-enforcement task forces investigating the murders.
Hemingway will executive produce with Mark Taylor through their Hemingway | Taylor production company, along with Long. Kading will be a consultant on the pilot script and also serve as co-executive producer.
