Oxford-educated stage actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers is rumored for an undisclosed supporting role in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The trade outlet states that she may play “young black or mixed-race woman who may be a descendent of Jedi Knight Ben Kenobi”. Not that long ago, Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o was also rumored to have a role in the film.
Written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, Star Wars: Episode VII will be set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi and will follow a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are slated to be back as well as Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca.
