Corey Hawkins Books Role On ‘Kong: Skull Island’ Posted by Wilson Morales

With roles in the upcoming N.W.A biopic “Straight Outta Compton” and in the new season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” Corey Hawkins is starting to become the next it guy, having booked a role in Legendary Pictures’ “Kong: Skull Island,” the prequel to “King Kong.”
The Juilliard grad joins a cast that includes Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson with Jordan Vogt-Roberts directing. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce with Mary Parent. Alex Garcia and Eric McLeod exec produces.
The site states that the story will be set in the mysterious, dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the island.
In “Straight Outta Compton,” Hawkins has a breakout role playing Dr. Dre. In Season 6 of “The Walking Dead,” he plays as Heath, a prominent figure from the comics who first appeared in The Walking Dead #69. Heath runs supplies in the Alexandria Safe Zone.
