Dysfunctional Friends Get 2012 Release Dateby Wilson Morales

Image Entertainment, Inc. announced recently the addition of Dysfunctional Friends to its One Village label. This latest acquisition covers North American rights including home video, television, digital and VOD to the comedy featuring Stacey Dash (Single Ladies), Reagan Gomez Preston (Beauty Shop), Hosea Chanchez (The Game), Wesley Jonathan (Crossover) and Terrell Owens.
Additionally, the film will be released theatrically by Datari Turner Productions in conjunction with AMC Independent on February 3, 2012. The announcement was made by Bill Bromiley, Chief Acquisitions Officer for Image Entertainment.
“We’re extremely pleased to add Dysfunctional Friends to our ever-growing One Village library,” said Bromiley. “Audiences will love the story that Datari Turner has penned.”
“Datari Turner has put together an amazing cast that was second-to-none for an independent urban film,” commented Brett Dismuke, Sr. VP of One Village. “I had to have this film.”
Dysfunctional Friends is a comedy/drama about ten college friends who reunite when their larger-than-life friend, Dennis (Keith Robinson) unexpectedly dies from a freak skydiving accident. The film has been dubbed a modern day version of The Big Chill. It was written and directed by Corey Grant. The producers are Datari Turner (Video Girl, Another Happy Day, L.U.V) and Greg Carter (American Dream).
