Lionsgate are slowly filling in a very specific infographic over on the Facebook page for the anticipated sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, having announced four members of the supporting cast this past week.
The latest Tribute to play in the Quarter Quell Hunger Games is Chaff, the District 11 tribute who previous played in the 45th Hunger Games and returns for the 75th Anniversary “celebration.” He’ll be played by E. Roger Mitchell, a 41-year-old Atlanta-based actor who has appeared in films like S.W.A.T., Battle: Los Angeles, The Crazies, and Tyler Perry projects such as Diary Of A Mad Black Woman, Daddy’s Little Girls and House Of Payne. He also appeared on The Shield, One Tree Hill.
According the HG wiki page, Chaff was the tribute from District 11 in the 45th Hunger Games and the third Quarter Quell. He won the 45th Hunger Games, but lost his hand during the games. He refused to receive a prosthetic hand from the Capitol doctors.
Chaff, along with Beetee, Wiress, Finnick, Mags, Johanna, Seeder, Woof and the Morphlings were all part of the rebellion and were instructed by Haymitch Abernathy to try their best to find Peeta and Katniss and make sure they both lived after they were reaped during the 75th Hunger Games, a Quarter Quell. He was one of only few who knew about the plan to get Katniss out of the arena, to District 13.
Previous announcements this week include Alan Ritchson as Gloss, Bruno Gunn as Brutus and Meta Golding as Enobaria.
There are still a lot of names to fill in as you can tell from that diagram with District 4’s Finnick being a major one. Who knows if the cast announcements will continue throughout next week or if some might be saved for later?
Directed by Francis Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is scheduled for release on November 22, 2013.
