Variety is reporting that Emory Cohen has been cast opposite Kiersey Clemons in the horror film “Sweetheart” for “Sleight” director JD Dillard and Blumhouse Productions.
Dillard co-wrote the script with his “Sleight” writing partner Alex Theurer as well Alex Hyner. Dillard, Theurer, and Hyner will all produce along with Jason Blum and Bill Karesh.
The site stated that no information as been given about the film other than it’s being described as a survival-horror pic.
Dillard and Theurer wrote and produced “Sleight” with Hyner on board in a supporting role. The film, described as “Iron Man” meets “The Prestige,” made its premiere at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, where WWE Pictures and Blumhouse partnered up to acquire the film.
Cohen recently starred as Homer in Netflix’s series “The OA” and will be seen opposite Brad Pitt in Netflix’s “War Machine.” He first garnered attention for his role opposite Ryan Gosling in “A Place Behind The Pines” and was featured in the Oscar nominated film “Brooklyn.”
