Deadline is reporting that Erica Ash (Survivor’s Remorse, In Contempt) is set to star in the indie romance Singleholic, based on the novel of the same name by Katharine Bing.

Bryan Barber is attached to direct the film from a script adapted by Katherine Birbalsingh.

The film follows Sarah Wilcox (Ash), who wakes up on the morning of her 35th birthday and decides she wants to settle down and get married, so she goes on a series of hilarious dating encounters.

Stephen Bishop has also joined the cast and will play Michael Webb, a charming and successful businessman who meets Sarah at a time when she would like to find love.

Milan Selassie is producing the film, which is currently in production in Mauritius, East Africa. Cassian Elwes is overseeing sales.

Ash currently stars in BET’s legal drama In Contempt. She previously spent four seasons on the Starz comedy Survivor’s Remorse. Bishop is best known for his role as David Paulk on BET’s Being Mary Jane. He was last seen in the psychological thriller ‘Til Death Do Us Part alongside Taye Diggs.
