Blackfilm.com has been provided with some pics from producer Datari Turner‘s latest film, “Supermodel,” which stars Tyson Beckford, Sessilee Lopez, Datari Turner, Roger Guenveur Smith, Fat Joe, Toccara Jones, Angela Simmons, Marc John Jefferies, Tatyana Ali, Nichole Galicia, Melissa De Sousa, Don Benjamin, Cassandra Freeman, Tobias Truvillion, Julito McCullum, and Beverly Bond.
Directed by Shawn Baker from an original script by Shawn Baker, Philip McGowan with rewrites by Datari Turner. “Supermodel” is produced by Datari Turner for Datari Turner Productions.
The film is being described as a modern day Mahogany. A young girl (Sessilee Lopez) from the Brooklyn housing projects goes from the subway to the runway becoming one of the most sought after models in the fashion industry. But in the high stakes world of fashion and beauty. Things aren’t always as pretty and glamorous as they seem.
Filming is currently ongoing within New York City, Paris, and Los Angeles.
Turner recently entered a first look agreement with Codeblack Films, a Lionsgate company.
