Here are the first pics of Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga, who will have a recurring arc on ABC’s new superhero series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Negga will appear in the fifth episode, airing on October 22 and titled “Girl in the Flower Dress.” Her character name is Raina, who among the Marvel world, is a character from the Savage Land in the comic books and a member of the Saurid race.
“An elusive girl in a flower dress may hold the key to the mystery that brings Coulson and team to Asia to rescue a young man with an unusual and dangerous power; and Skye has a secret that jeopardizes her relationship with the team right when they need her most.”
Negga, who starred opposite Samuel L. Jackson in The Samaritan, will next be seen in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave and John Ridley’s Jimi Hendrix film, All Is By My Side.
