Both Forest Whitaker and Antoine Fuqua are set to do separate projects for TNT, under their plan to expand their drama department, stated Variety.
Whitaker, along with Amanda Green, will co-write and exec produced ‘H.I.K.E.,’ which takes place in Phoenix, known as the kidnapping capital of the U.S, and involves a female cop who runs the Home Invasion Kidnapping Enforcement team.
Director Antoine Fuqua will direct and act as exec producer on “The Command,” where a team of the “best of the best” law enforcement officers from different agencies team to put away the hardened criminal offenders. Tony Spiridakis, who will write the pilot, will also exec produce with Todd Komarnicki.
While these projects are in development, TNT has not ordered to pilot as of yet.
Whitaker was last seen in the now-cancelled Criminal Minds spin-off, ‘Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior,’ while Fuqua has been attached to a number of projects, including a new film on Tupac Shakur and a film featuring a romantic love story between Yang Guifei, an imperial concubine, and the Tang dynasty emperor, Xuanzong
