Academy Award nominee Gabourey Sidibe will be joining the third season of FX’s “America Horror Story,” as co-creator Ryan Murphy announced.

“Thrilled to announce Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe is joining the cast of ‘American Horror Story: Coven,'” Murphy tweeted.

Plot specifics for the new episodes are still a mystery, but stars Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe are set to return with Kathy Bates also joining the cast as a “rival” to Lange’s character.

Murphy’s announcement comes the same day that the final season of Showtime’s The Big C: Hereafter begins its first of the cancer dramedy’s final four episodes. Sidibe plays Andrea, an aspiring fashion student in the Laura Linney starrer.

Sidibe, best known for her performance in Precious, has since appeared in films like Tower Heist and Seven Psychopaths.
